The combination of poetry, colour and the detail of the craft is wonderful and a very fitting commemoration for remembrance day. I would encourage everyone heading to Tŷ Pawb over the next week or so to take a few moments for a closer look.

“A huge thank you also to the team at Wrexham Visitor Centre for devising and coordinating this brilliant, community-led project.”

The River of Poppies will be on display at Tŷ Pawb’s reception area until Monday 20th November.

As part of the Armistice Day commemorations tomorrow the council will be sounding the air raid siren at 11am.

The siren is located at Wrexham County Borough Museum and can be sometimes heard within a 2.5 mile radius of the town centre.

A two-minute silence will be held on Queens Square on Saturday at 11am.

At 10.59am a bugler will sound the Last Post.

Members of the public are invited to attend.
