Twelve months of refurbishment works improving the facilities at a Wrexham crematorium have been completed.

Over the last year, Wrexham County Borough Council undertook work to improve the facilities at Pentrbychan Crematorium, ensuring that it remains a suitable venue to commemorate loved ones and pay last respects.

Improvement works include the complete refurbishment of the waiting room, with new carpets, decoration, lighting and furniture. The reception area and toilets have all been redecorated, along with the Chapel, where the entrance hall and exit corridors have been re-carpeted.

The Book of Remembrance Room has also been decorated.

On the exterior of the building, entrance doors, chapel windows and metalworks have also been painted, and a new surface lain on the driveway on the exit to the Crematorium.

Cllr David A Bithell, Lead Member for the Environment and Transport at Wrexham Council, said: “Pentrebychan Crematorium is a very important facility for the residents of the County Borough and beyond.

“It is essential that the Crematorium is maintained to the highest standard and is appropriate for the needs of the bereaved and their families. I have been working hard to ensure these improvements have been implemented.”
