A Wrexham town centre car park is set to have its all day parking charges reduced, with the new fees set to be introduced next week.

Wrexham Council has reduced its all day car parking charges to £2.00 in the People’s Market from Monday 5th January. The car park is also free after three every day.

In November the Executive Board voted unanimously in favour of introducing the new all day parking charges at the People’s Market.

The introduction of the new charges follows the free parking in the Town Centre that took place for Small Business Saturday and the Saturdays leading up to Christmas.

Speaking about the new parking charges, Cllr David A Bithell, Lead Member for the Environment and Public Protection, said: “We are doing everything we can to support local traders and reducing the car parking charge in the People’s market is just one of the ways we can do that.

“I encourage everyone to take advantage of the offer and come into Wrexham to shop. There is currently a lot of work going on with retailers under the Vibrant Viable Places Grant and also as part of the Healthy High Streets initiative and the Environment Department will continue to support this work to increase footfall for our traders.”
