After a successful recent event the team behind Focus Wales have announced dates for you to put in the diary for next year.

Neal Thompson from Focus Wales told us of the ‘record breaking’ attendance and success of the event: “This year has been the best FOCUS Wales by far – we’ve welcomed over 6000 people to Wrexham over four days and hosted over 200 live performances across various venues in the town centre.

“Once again the town has proven to be the perfect location to host the event and we look forward to doing so again in 2017 on the 11th to 13th May. We were also able to offer over 40 volunteering opportunities to young people from the area and over 30 performance slots were filled this year by local acts, which we will build on for the 2017 event.”

This year’s event saw The Magic Numbers, Gwenno, The Joy Formidable, The Sunshine Underground, Sean Hughes, Peter Hook (ex NEW ORDER / JOY DIVISION) and over 190 other acts take to various stages across Wrexham.

The annual multi-venue festival places the music industry spotlight firmly on the emerging talent that Wales has to offer the world, with an emphasis on developing new home grown talent and bringing music industry attention to Wales through its programme of Interactive industry sessions.

This year the Interactive element attracted over sixty music industry delegates, representing organisations as diverse as BBC Radio 6 Music, SXSW, Festival Number 6, Drowned in Sound and many more.

The 2017 line-up will be announced later this year  and promises to build on the record breaking attendance this year, with bigger headline names and industry speakers, plus film screenings, art exhibitions, spoken word and workshop events for all ages.

Early bird festival tickets, which grant access to all FOCUS Wales live performances, interactive sessions and panels, workshops, comedy shows and film screenings will be on sale from the end of June.
