The speed limit on a well known stretch of road in Llangollen looks set to be reduced.

Currently the A542 from Llangollen to Llandegla has a speed limit of 60mph, however recommendations from Denbighshire Council and North Wales Police propose the limit is reduced to 40mph.

The road on the Horseshoe Pass itself is a well known spot around the area, particularly for motorcyclists and tourists.

In the past five years there have been 22 accidents on the stretch of road, with the most recent accident taking place in April. The incident resulted in a man being airlifted to hospital suspected broken arm and head injuries.

A public consultation will now be launched before the final decision is made.
