Primary school in Llay to remain closed tomorrow due to ‘major damage to the school building’

A primary school in Llay will be closed tomorrow after a fire broke out earlier this afternoon.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called to the blaze at Park Community Primary School, Llay at 3:12pm this afternoon, with the fire breaking out at rear of the school’s kitchen.

A statement posted on the Park Community Primary School, Llay Facebook page says: “Due to the fire at school today we will be closed tomorrow.

“We would like to thank the children and parents for the calm manner, in which you conducted yourselves during the incident today.

“We will keep you updated on when the school will reopen in the near future.”

Wrexham Council’s school status page states the school is closed due to ‘Major damage to the school building’.
