What do you think about heritage in the town centre?

Wrexham Council are preparing a bid which could secure £1.52 million to support physical works to improve / preserve a number of the town’s historic buildings.

If successful, the funding would be on top of a £65k grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund awarded in the summer of 2018 to develop the Townscape Heritage Scheme.

The scheme aims to renovate some of the town’s important, historic buildings within Wrexham town centre, repairing or reinstating their traditional features and celebrating their special character.

As part of the works it is hoped that a number of buildings within Wrexham Town Centre Conservation Area will be upgrading and brought back into use – whilst preserving and improving those things which make them architecturally unique.

Now Wrexham Council are inviting members of the public to have their say on how the Townscape Heritage Scheme may work – with views wanted from visitors to the town and those who own buildings within the designated area.

On Thursday 9th May at 3pm the local authority will be hosting a consultation event at Tŷ Pawb.

Wrexham Council say your views will help guide what people want from the project, as well as how this work can complement other potential projects within the town centre.
