Wrexham AFC say they are pleased to announce the Powerchair Football team will be hosting an open day at the Wrexham Glyndwr University Sports Centre tomorrow – Friday (April 29).

The open day has been organised as part of the Club receiving a grant from the #Wrecsam2025 UK City of Culture bid, and will present the chance for them to showcase Wales’ first ever Powerchair Football team.

Open to the public from 5.30pm to 7pm, the Open Day will showcase both the children’s Powerchair Football participants and the adult team’s training session. Light refreshments will also be available on the night.

Launched this season, Powerchair Football allows any supporters with disabilities – not just those who are wheelchair bound – the chance to play every Friday.

Sessions are organised for children from 5.15pm-6.15pm, and for adults from 6.30pm-7.45pm. A fast-paced sport, the Club aims to provide opportunities for both social playing and the chance to play competitively too.
