A number of properties in the Hightown and Whitegate area have been affected by a power cut this evening.

SP Energy Networks say the issue in the LL13 area has been caused by damage to its underground cable network.

As a result properties in the St John’s Road, Warwick Avenue and Linden Avenue areas have been affected.

SP Energy Network say: “Our engineers have arrived on site and the power should be back on by 7.15PM. If this information changes we will make every effort to contact you.

“We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.”
