Residents across Wrexham have started to receive their poll cards for the upcoming Council Elections on May 4th.

In exactly five weeks time, voters across Wales will take to the polls to select new councillors to represent their constituency for five years.

In Wrexham a total of 52 councillors will be elected across 47 electoral divisions.

The local governments elections are when you decide who represents your community on the Council which will then deliver local services such as bin collections, education and social care.

If you’re not registered to vote you will not be able to take part in the local government elections in May and will therefore be unable to have your say on who represents you locally until 2021.

The deadline to register to vote in this election is Monday 13 April.

You can register to vote online here. It’s very quick and easy and by registering you are showing you wish to have a say in how your council is run for the next five years.

If you do not receive a poll card, check if you’re registered by calling 01978 292020.
