Police have increased patrols in an area of Rossett following reports of youths congregating.

It comes after officers received reports that residents were “feeling intimidated” by large groups gathering in the area of the underpass, near to the railway line.

Inspector Matt Subacchi said: “I am aware of concerns of youths congregating in the Rossett area, and as a result, we are working with the local council to try to resolve the issues.

“Patrols are being increased and I would urge those who do congregate in the area to please consider how large groups might make some people feel.

“It can be intimidating for some.”

County Councillor for Rossett, Ross Shepherd, said: “We are working closely with the police to politely request that youths and others don’t congregate around this particular area of the village – it is a well-used underpass and groups of people can be intimidating for some who use this route.”
