Police launch murder investigation after woman’s body found following house fire in Ruabon

Police have launched a murder investigation after a woman’s body was found following a house fire in Ruabon.

Officers were called to an address in the village at 12.26am this morning, where they said a woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 25-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder and is in police custody.

The coroner has been informed of the incident.

Chief Inspector Neil Maxwell said: “Our thoughts are with the victim’s family. We will have extra police officers patrolling the Ruabon area this morning carrying out investigations.

“If anyone has any information about this incident please call us on 101.”
