Police confirm Wrexham man arrested on suspicion of sexual offences after “incident in Pontcysyllte”

An appeal for information has been launched after a man was arrested on suspicion of sexual offences.

Police say the 52-year-old from Wrexham was arrested after an incident in the Pontcysyllte area at around 9:30am this morning.

He has since been released under investigation.

Now anyone who may have been in the area and witnessed any suspicious behaviour at that time is being asked to get in touch with police.

In a post online, NWP Wrexham Rural said: “Following an incident in Pontcysyllte, Llangollen earlier this morning we can confirm that a 52-year-old man from Wrexham has been arrested on suspicion of sexual offences.

“He has since been released under investigation however we are appealing to anybody who may have been in the area of Pontcysyllte at around 9:30 am and who witnessed suspicious behaviour to contact officers on 101 or via the live web chat quoting reference number Y071601.”
