Two cars were deliberately set alight over the weekend in Wrexham.

The first incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning in Acton, just before 1am. The fire service attended and extinguished the fire.

The car, believed to be a Ford Fiesta, was set alight on Gateway just off Derwent Crescent.

The second incident was late last night (Sunday) in Caia Park shortly after 10pm where another vehicle suffered deliberate ignition. Two fire engines attended the incident, which also caused damage to a nearby garage.

Police were also active over Caia yesterday afternoon in a separate incident involving the hunt for a stolen black Audi A6. The National Police Air Service said they were assisting North Wales Police ‘searching for a recently sighted outstanding stolen vehicle in the Wrexham area’, with it confirmed this morning the car is still outstanding.

Police are appealing for anyone with any information on any of the above incidents to call them via the 101 number.
