A plea for a festive, knitted post box topper to be returned has been issued after the hand crafted item went missing.

The Christmas design, which features Santa, snowmen and trees had been placed on the post box next to the Royal Mail Sorting Office, on Regent Street.

It has been created by a team of crafters who have displayed five of their designs on Wrexham post boxes this Christmas.

“We put them out on December 1 and had noticed today it had gone,” explained Mai Moulton.

“It took ages to make, and is one of five out in Wrexham at the moment. We have never had one taken before.

“It was originally put out during lockdown to show support and appreciation to the NHS and key workers.

“We are asking for it to be returned to the top of the postbox by the sorting office on Regent Street please.”

Knitted post box toppers took off during the coronavirus pandemic, which saw crafters across the UK come together to brighten up their local communities and bring a smile to people’s faces during the difficult period.
