Student accommodation could be built on Brook Street in the town centre if planning permission is approved.

It is proposed that two blocks of modern three storey flats would be built on the site next to Chicago Rock Café.

The plans show 21 residential ‘cluster flats’ with 107 bed spaces could be developed, along with car parking underneath. The car parking will have 51 parking spaces and three disabled spaces.

The area has been chosen due to its location in the town centre and accessibility to the Central train station and Glyndwr University.

If successful the application would see the demolition of the old Scott’s nightclub, which has remained vacant for a number of years. Located on the same site, Rolling’s would also be demolished.
