Plans to build two new bungalows in the Plas Madoc are have been given the go ahead.

Councillors unanimously voted in favour approving the the development in the Glaslyn area on Monday.

The application, which has been submitted on behalf of Wrexham Council, proposed that the two five bedroom properties are built to help meet the local accommodation needs.

Documents submitted for consideration earlier this year stated that the proposed units are to be “dormers” and for seven people.

Concerns from one local resident had been raised about the development, who argued that “squeezing more houses together causes social problems as witnessed in the locality.”

They also stated that the “application site is currently used for parking by existing residents for parking for visitors and “the lack of parking provision could cause difficulty for emergency vehicles.”

But in the meeting report Chief Planning Officer of Planning Regulatory, Lawrence Isted stated that the land was not designated for parking and that “residents and their visitors have effectively benefitted from an uncontrolled use of this plot for some time.”

Despite the concerns the application was backed by councillors unopposed, with a very quick decision made.
