Plans for a small housing development in the Bronington area of Wrexham have been submitted.

The application, which has been lodged with Wrexham Council, proposes that the five detached dwellings are built on land north of Oakfield Close / Close Cae Derwen.

Within the supporting documents submitted alongside the application, it is noted that the proposed development would “square off the north side of the settlement and would not significantly extend beyond the furthest curtilage of the village.”

In terms of the new properties planned for the site, the applicants state that the development would include a bungalow and four “modest family homes” for the areas.

These would primarily consist of three bedroom properties, which are “considered suitable to cater for local demand.”

Details provided within the design and access statement note that the proposed dwellings are “heavily influenced by the surrounding built development and occupies similar sized plots to others in the area and would complement the street scene.”

The applicants conclude: “In accordance with national and local policy guidance it is considered that the proposed modest scale development, is a sustainable development that will help address the shortfall in housing supply and provide a small number of attractive family homes.

“The mix and style of the properties is strongly demanded in the local area and will help local families get on the housing ladder of free up other properties in the area.

“The opportunity is developable and deliverable as the landowner is working with the intended buyer, who completed the development of the first phase and is aware of any site specific issues.

“It is hoped the information contained in this statement, alongside the plans allows for this application to be determined positively and affords the opportunity to see good quality family housing to be developed which will support existing facilities in the village.”

The application will be considered for approval by Wrexham Council at a later date.
