A planning application has been lodged which would see a building converted for use as a restaurant on Chester Street – with an eye catching rear development.

The plans are for a change of use from a gym to a restaurant, including a reworked rear of the property, and two illuminated signs on the front and rear.

The plans note 100 covers inside, and 20 outside, although there are enough tables indicated for 124 covers overall.

The current rear of the property overlooks the building yard for construction services associated with the Arts Hub / Peoples Market project.

There is a mention of a new ‘cantilever balcony’ with new glass balustrade, and new glass sliding doors for access to the space for 20 customers.

Due to the application being change of use only, the plans lack detail on who or when the possible new restaurant could open.
