One of the most popular McDonald’s in the world* is in line for a major upgrade, along with an extension to the building.

Plans lodged with Wrexham Council explain how a refurbishment of the restaurant would mean alterations to elevations to include the demolition of back of house areas (42.70 sqm) and the construction of new extensions (70.74 sqm), seeing an overall increase of 29 sqm to the restaurant.

The extension area will form replacement freezer/chiller and store rooms, presumably to allow other space to increase serving ability. A new area to store bins will be placed on the existing carpark, with the new building area being situated on the previously used space.

The new sections are indicated in green / red on the below image:

The drive thru booths are to be replaced with the addition of new grey cladding and a section of new shopfront finished in brick to match existing buildings.

There will also be the installation of two digital Customer Order Displays (COD) with overhead canopies, a ‘goal post’ style height restrictor and replacement drive thru signage.

The restaurant will also see a new entrance door fitted along with other upgrades to the outside area, with improved areas of tarmac and new markings.

Plans could go before the local Planning Committee if not approved via delegated powers by the Planning Officer.
