Plans for new units on Wrexham Industrial Estate could help to boost economy
Plans to create new units on Wrexham Industrial Estate could help to boost the area’s economy, it’s been claimed.
Proposals have been put forward to create a total of four separate units to house businesses on Oak Road.
The land is currently used as a yard to store industrial materials, according to an application submitted to Wrexham Council.
If approved, the developers behind the scheme said it would help to create new jobs.
In a planning statement, they said: “The proposals involve the development of the site to provide new commercial and industrial units.
“The buildings will be developed along with a new highway access, car parking and turning area for articulated vehicles.
“The proposed development will provide employment opportunities for local tradesmen, of which there are many in the Wrexham area.
“Building works such as this will stimulate wider benefits, not only in terms of generating wealth at the build stage, but also during the lifetime of the building by positively contributing to the local economy by employing local people.”
They added the design was in keeping with the surrounding area and it would not have a negative impact on the neighbourhood.
The plans will be considered by the local authority at a later date.
