A section of Stansty Road is set to close for ten days from Wednesday – with traffic issues likely to occur as a result.

The road will be closed from Railway Road to Crispin Lane, with Wrexham Council clarifying to us today that will not result in the closure of the railway bridge, however there will be diversions in place.

For those heading from Rhosddu / Llay New Road side towards Plas Coch, the railway bridge will be open however traffic will be diverted up Crispin Lane to Mold Road. For those going from Plas Coch way towards Rhosddu on Stansty Road there will be no access under the bridge as the road will be closed off before then by Railway Road.

The reason for the closure is that the new ‘Sidings’ housing development on the old Remploy site is being connected to the foul sewer.

The road will be closed until Friday 31st October.

Back in 2012 when the railway bridge / tunnel was closed off there were huge traffic issues in the area, with the Council having to cut short a trial of a proposed one way system. Hopefully the issues from this closure will not be as severe!
