Wrexham Council has issued a reminder to those visiting the town centre that parking enforcement is now taking place.

It comes after what the local authority has described as a “small minority of drivers” leaving their cars on pavements and in the pedestrianised areas for extended periods of time.

During lockdown enforcement did not take place as it was “not a critical service at that time”.

However as more shops, restaurants and services have started to re-open in the town, Parking Enforcement Officers are now issuing fines for anyone abusing the time limits in the short stay car parks and limited waiting bays.

Parking in all council owned car parks in the town centre is still in operation until the end of September – with visitors asked to
observe the maximum stay time limits. This is the same for free limited waiting bays that are across the the town centre.

A spokesperson for Wrexham Council said that officers will also “continue to issue fines for anyone not parked in a legitimate parking space such as on double yellow lines, disabled bays without a blue badge and parking in pedestrianised areas at the wrong times or on pavements. So to avoid a fine please park responsibly.”
