A celebration event has been held by Wrexham Family Information Service’s Opening Doors project.

Eight parents who successfully completed the STEPS confidence building course received certificates for their achievements.

The STEPS programme helps parents to improve their self-confidence and to make positive changes helping to make a difference to family life.

The programme took place over seven weeks and at the celebration event the participants received certificates and cakes kindly supplied by Em’s Cakes in Wrexham.

Salon Iâl at Coleg Cambria awarded each of the parents a voucher for a free treatment.

One of the parents completing the programme said: “STEPS has really helped me change my way of thinking and is going to help me so much to make positive changes in all aspects of my life. Really is fab.”

The mums and dads completing the programme will be moving on to training, volunteering, work, and staying in work.

Alma Belles, Wrexham Family Information Service Manager, added: “It is wonderful to see how everyone who has completed the STEPS programme is so inspired by it.”
