Overnight House Fire Rescue In Chirk

A 65 year old woman was rescued earlier this evening from a house fire in Chirk.

Fire crews were alerted of the fire at 1.35am this morning in the Lodgevale Park area of Chirk. A spokesperson for the fire service has confirmed appliances from Chirk, Llangollen and Wrexham were called on to tackle the blaze at the bungalow.

Shortly after the attendance of firefighters at the scene, and some initial treatment for severe smoke inhalation, the woman was transferred to hospital where her condition is still serious.

The fire service have confirmed investigations into the cause of the fire are currently underway.
