North Wales health staff and services shortlisted for prestigious awards

Healthcare staff and services across Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board have been shortlisted in this year’s Advancing Healthcare Clinical Awards Cymru.

The awards recognise and celebrate the important and innovative work of healthcare scientists and allied health professionals across Wales.

It is an opportunity to shine a spotlight on the amazing work of these dedicated healthcare professionals, and to be part of the Advancing Healthcare Awards community and networks.

The following staff and services have been shortlisted:

  • Sarah Powell-Jones, Dietetic Assistant Practitioner and Registered Nutritionist, has been shortlisted for two awards – Leadership and the Outstanding Achievement by an AHP or Healthcare Science Apprentice, Support Worker, Assistant or Associate.
  • The Dietetics Department have also been shortlisted for the Award for Improving Access to Health and Care for their Come and Cook with your Child programme.
  • The Advanced Clinical Practitioner Dietitian Led service for Gastroenterology has been shortlisted for the Award for New Ways of Working.
  • Both the Specialist Prehabilitation Service and BCUHB Long Covid Service have been shortlisted for the Award for Excellence in Rehabilitation.

Carol Shillabeer, Interim Chief Executive of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, said: “I would like to congratulate all our staff who have been nominated for an Advancing Healthcare Award.

“This is a great achievement acknowledging their great work and dedication to going above and beyond.

“To have six services and individuals nominated for this year’s award is a fantastic accomplishment for the Health Board, and it reflects all the hard work and commitment of our staff. Thank you to everyone involved and I wish them all the luck for the awards evening.”

The winners of the awards will be announced at a lunch ceremony on Friday 20 October.
