New occupier being sought for The Old Library in Wrexham
A new occupier is being sought to take over one of the city centre’s most historic building.
The Old Library, which is currently used by Wrexham Council’s ICT department, is a Grade II listed building on Queens Square.
It was originally built in 1907 with money donated by the Scottish businessman and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie and was a popular library until the facility relocated in 1971.
As part of Wrexham Council works to modernise its buildings and work force, the Old Library has been described as being “under used.”
Following a competitive tendering exercise, commercial property agents Legat Owen have been appointed to explore alternative uses for the building and to assess the level of commercial demand.
A new occupier is now being sought to breathe fresh life into the property whilst having due regard to its Grade II listed status.
A preliminary marketing exercise will be undertaken between January and March 2023 and interested parties should contact Legat Owen on 01244 408 200.
