Mystery ‘Explosion’ Wakes Gresford

Several residents of Gresford and the surrounding area have been in touch to describe a mystery noise in the early hours of this morning.

One resident who lives in Gresford told us “I was in my garage getting my car ready just before 5am when there was a huge bang. It was a single sound but not a firework or a crash. It sounded like something exploding.”

“I was waiting to hear sirens but nothing happened and it was all quiet”

We have had reports saying it was heard between the Church and Quarry, another heard it living close to the duck pond.

Others took to twitter to say what they had heard.
