A power cut hit large areas of Wrexham this morning, with a fix put in place just before 10am.

Lots of people have been in touch this morning to report power cuts in the area. Tom told us: “Bron y Dre, Court Road, Felin Pulston areas also. Getting worryingly near toast time too. Concerned.” with Carrie saying: “Percy Road and most of Hightown is in darkness”, with another report that Plas Coch was also affected.

Suppliers have said the issue began before 7am, and: “This has been caused by a fault on our network and is affecting a significant number of customers in the local area.

“Our emergency response teams are now making their way to the area to investigate and repair the fault and we expect your power to be restored by 9am.

“We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.”

UPDATE 1: At 8:40 the latest update was “Our emergency response team have now arrived at on site to investigate and repair the fault”.

UPDATE 2: Just before 9:30am people have got in touch to say their power is coming back on, although the supplier has now adjusted their message to say: “Our emergency response team are now on site to investigate and repair the fault. At this moment we do not have a restoration time”
