For the second time this month police in Wrexham are urging motorists not to leave items on display in their vehicles after another spate of thefts across the town.

In the latest incidents thieves broke into vehicles in Borras, Hightown and Rhosddu with items including a laptop, wallets, purses and phones being snatched. In Rhostyllen a van was broken into and tools stolen.

Katie sent us the above image of her broken car window this morning, adding: “Not what I wanted to wake up to. Another car been broken into on The Goulbourne last night.”

Sgt Vic Powell said; “Please don’t leave items on display in your vehicle. Lock them away or remove them from the vehicle when you park.

“We are working hard to trace the offenders and will be patrolling the areas targeted, but motorists must take responsibility for their possessions. Leaving money, phones and any items on view will always tempt a thief.

“In most of these incidents the criminal has simply smashed the car window, taken the item left on view and made off.”

Earlier this month police put out a similar appeal to motorists following a spate of vehicle break-ins in Acton, Garden Village, Borras, Hightown and Stansty.

If you see people acting suspiciously around vehicles or residential addresses call the police on 101 or use the live webchat.
