McDonald’s has submitted plans to install signage on its new restaurant and takeaway in Wrexham.

As reported last month the fast-food chain confirmed that it had taken over the former Pizza Hut, on Central Retail Park.

The pizza restaurant closed suddenly at the end of September, with the company stating that “reasons beyond its control” had led to the decision.

The restaurant has since been stripped back and gutted, with McDonalds expected to open in spring 2024, with 40 full-time and 30 part-time jobs expected to be created.

Plans to install new signage on the front of the building and a free-standing totum in the existing car park have now been submitted.

The application also includes the refurbishment of the shopfront and the repainting of the door and window frames.

The existing entrance and exit points to the car park will be maintained.

The two applications will be considered for approval by Wrexham Council at a later date.
