Sadly police have confirmed a body has been found close to where searches were taking place earlier this morning close to the A483 by Chirk.

Inspector Jim Lee said this afternoon: “Police attended near to the Halton – Chirk roundabout on the A483 this morning following a report of concerns for a man.

“Sadly a man’s body has now been recovered from a river in the immediate area and we believe this to be the person we were looking for.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious, the family have been informed and the coroner will be informed.”
