Man charged with ‘serious motoring offences’ following Wrexham hit and run

A man has charged with a number of “serious motoring offences” following a hit and run collision in Wrexham last week.

The 27-year-old man had been arrested yesterday in connection with incident on Poplar Road which took place on Wednesday evening.

A male pedestrian was left seriously injured as a result of the collision and was taken to Stoke hospital for treatment.

Tonight police have confirmed than the man has been charged with “numerous serious motoring offences” and has been denied bail. He has been remanded in custody and will appear in court on Monday.

Police have also confirmed that the injured man remains in Stoke hospital and has now regained consciousness.

A statement released this evening, reads: “Thanks once again to members of the public for coming forward with vital information and as a result a male person was arrested on Friday afternoon.

“Following extensive enquiries, the male has now been charged with numerous serious motoring offences and is being remanded in custody until court on Monday.”
