As the festive season approaches, officers from the Licensing and Trading Standards sections are teaming up with officers from North Wales Police as part the ongoing partnership to ensure public safety and compliance at licensed premises.

The team will be conducting inspections and advisory visits to pubs and bars in Wrexham to ensure that licence conditions are being adhered to and that alcohol is not being sold to anyone who is under age. A specialist trading standards officer will be testing alcohol to ensure that counterfeit or illegal alcohol is not being sold.

The initiative is part of the Think Safe, Drink Safe campaign for 2013 which brings together key partner agencies who work together to prevent and reduce levels of alcohol fuelled violent crime and antisocial behaviour in the town centre during the Christmas and New Year periods.
