Kronospan Refiner Fire

At 5.20pm this evening, Tuesday 12th June 2012 North Wales Fire and Rescue Service (NWFRS) attended the report of a fire at Kronospan Ltd in Chirk. NWFRS deployed four appliances, a foam carrier and an area ladder platform from Fire Stations in Wrexham, Deeside and Llangollen.

Callum Edwards sent us the above picture saying “fire clearly visible in Rhiwabon”.

Gareth Griffiths of NWFRS said “The fire was contained to a refiner in the production area and quickly extinguished. No persons were injured during the course of this incident

The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
