Scouts fundraising to attend the World Scout Jamboree in Japan in 2015 will be spreading Christmas cheer in Wrexham for the next two Thursdays from 6pm to 8pm.

The Scouts Lapland float will be driving around Gresford tonight and then Borras & Acton get their chance to meet Santa the following week.

The Scouts found out last month that they would be attending the World Scout Jamboree in Japan, when 72 Welsh Scouts were picked from over 200 applicants. They now begin an 18 month journey with a series of training camps and fundraising events.

The two Wales Units are part of 67 Units from the United Kingdom. As well as taking part in the 12 day Jamboree, they will also spend three nights in Tokyo and in pairs stay with a Japanese family enjoying home hospitality.

Last week we reported that the Scouts will also be selling Christmas trees to help raise money for charity. This Saturday is your last chance to buy a Christmas tree from them, so pop down to their hut on Dean Road to purchase your tree.

So pop along and join in with the festive fun, tell Santa how good you’ve been this year, and help make the Scouts’ dreams come true.
