Back in 2014 Wrexham hosted Coca Cola’s large HGV, to many now being seen as an icon of Christmas. To others it is just a sugary corporate mega truck…

Either way it does seem to draw huge crowds when it is situated on Queens Square.

Over the past few weeks, many people have been in touch with Wrexham.com to find out if the truck will once again visit the town. Coke are announcing dates on November 1st with the truck likely to arrive at some point in December – if we are included on the list, which missed us off last year!

The last time the event was held thousands of people visited Wrexham throughout the day with Queens Square becoming progressively busier, specifically with lots of parents and children enjoying the event. Large queues had formed by around 6pm with people wanting to not only get a free can of coke but to get the now required facebook profile picture of them with the truck.

Previously some were less than impressed, with discussions taking place on our forums over Coke as an entity. One resident placed an FOI to discover the cost to the local authority of the visit – which surprised people at how low it was.

Last years Mayor and Wrexham Council's Leader enjoying some coke.

Pictured above is the then Mayor Cllr Alan Edwards and Cllr Mark Pritchard the Leader of Wrexham Council by the coke van. The cans given out are miniatures, they are not giants.

We will update on November 1st once the final list has been released to see if we will be coke trucking in December!
