Investigation into report of a death at HMP Berwyn

North Wales Police have today confirmed they are investigating into a report of a death at HMP Berwyn.

A statement released this afternoon explains that following a report from HMP Berwyn on Saturday 31st March 2018, police are investigating the death of a 22-year-old man from the North Wales area.

He had been detained at the establishment.

Further details released by North Wales Police add: “The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time.

“Police are working closely with HMP Berwyn to establish the circumstances on behalf of the Coroner and cannot comment further at this stage.”
