Over 160 Wrexham pupils took part in a recent primary school Rugby League festival.

Pupils from the Rofft CP, Holt CP, St Peters and Gresford All Saints took part in the successful tournament, organised by Wrexham Council in conjunction with Glyndwr University and Wales Rugby League.

North Wales Crusaders star Toby Adamson was also on hand to hand out certificates to the participants.

Rugby League Community Coach, Allen Jones, said. “It was fantastic to see so many children enjoying Rugby League.

“The schools involved have really embraced the sport and the festival was an opportunity for them to show off their skills and enjoy the occasion.

“It was really pleasing to see a mixture of boys and girls getting. To see so many local pupils playing Rugby League shows that the partnership approach we have employed to develop the game is paying off. I would also like to thank North Wales Crusaders for supporting the event.”
