House fire in Wrexham caused by lightning strike during early hours of morning

A lightning strike caused a fire at a property in Wrexham last night.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service say they were called to the property in the Bowling Bank area at 1:25am.

Two crews from Wrexham attended the fire, which was confirmed to have been caused by a lightning strike.

Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to tackle the fire.

The incident was brought under control by 2.17am.

The fire involved the roof of the property and the cause of the fire is believed to be lightning strike which resulted in 50% fire damage confined to the roof and water damage to the whole of the property.

All occupiers were evacuated before the fire crews arrived and there were no injuries.
