Sponsors of a flagship fundraising event in Wrexham this weekend have been thanked for their fantastic support.

The Midnight Walk will bring together hundreds of people from across the community tonight – all there for different reasons, but united by one cause, to raise funds for patient care.

Starting at midnight (Saturday 24 June) from Llwyn Isaf, Wrexham, supporters will walk along a designated route around the town, lighting up the streets with glow merchandise.

Wrexham company HOYA will be sponsoring T-shirts for the event, Hafren Dyfrdwy will be sponsoring water bottles, Moneypenny will provide a fundraising glitter stall while Net World Sports will entertain the crowd with their equipment, getting participants into the party spirit.

This year, walkers can choose either a 10k or 5k route, both of which will be manned by hospice volunteers, encouraging participants along the way.

Registration will open at 9pm, with the walk starting when the clock strikes midnight. Before that, walkers can enjoy lively entertainment plus the usual warm up.

Registration is £30 per person on the night and included in the fee is an exclusive T-shirt, a reusable Nightingale water bottle and treats donated by Kellogg’s and Village Bakery.

All walkers who raise over £200 sponsorship will be entered into a prize draw to win a framed Wrexham AFC shirt signed by Stereophonics lead singer Kelly Jones.

Sarah Povey, Hospice Corporate Partnership Lead said: “We are very excited to celebrate the 16th Anniversary of The Midnight Walk this month.

“We are so grateful for the wonderful support we have received from our corporate partners and it’s been great to collaborate on our flagship event.

“Nightingale House welcomes any company that wishes to get involved in our events, they are great fun and a fantastic opportunity to be involved in the community.”

Georgia Bartley, HOYA Marketing Officer said: “Nightingale House Hospice is our chosen local charity sponsorship this year following a vote by our colleagues.

“The Hospice means a lot to our community and it’s a charity close to many hearts at HOYA.

“We are proud to support the Midnight Walk once again and wish everyone participating all the best as they help raise funds and awareness for the hospice.”
