Are you full of Christmas spirit and have some spare time during December? Then Wrexham Council could have just the job for you.

Ahead of the opening of the traditional grotto opening at Tŷ Pawb next month, Wrexham Council are looking for a jolly individual who has plenty of charisma and charm to work to fill the role of Father Christmas.

In the job description Wrexham Council say: “If you have a warm personality, plenty of Christmas spirit and a passion to go above and beyond to help make an extra special magical experience for our visitors, then this is the role for you!”

Their grotto has previously been on Queens Square and inside the old Peoples Market, and this year is returning inside the building to what is now known as Tŷ Pawb.

The role on offer is to ‘impart the magic of the occasion to children and accompanying adults, by meeting and greeting, sharing stories and spirit’, and the candidate ‘will need to be patient and jolly as is expected of the character but also lead and manage the meeting experience’.

Father Christmas will be expected to ‘manage expectations of the child/visitor’ defined as ‘be wary of not promising to bring a specific present to any child’.

Red suits, a robust figure nor big bushy beards are in the job description – nor is the ability to feed reindeers or fly a sleigh around the world. However previous experience of Father Christmas would be an advantage.

Pay is in bringing joy to children, along with £8.55 an hour. In a slightly later posting than last year the job was posted on Friday, and the closing date is this coming Friday the 23rd, with the grotto set to open on December 1st.

For an informal discussion about the post, please contact Claire Luckock, Chief Elf, on 01978 292538 at the North Pole.
