Heritage buses will return to the roads of Wrexham on New Year’s Day in aid of Nightingale House Hospice.

Buses will operate up to every seven minutes between Wrexham & Rossett and up to every 15 minutes between Wrexham & Chester on route 1H.

This will follow the same route as the Arriva 1 service between Wrexham & Chester – omitting Chester Business Park.

The 44H Barker’s Lane circular service is also returning for a second year – following a simplified section of the Arriva 44 service.

This will operate up to every 15 minutes.

Bus rides are free but donations to the hospice can be made on most buses and at Wrexham Bus Station.

A spokesperson said: “The event is great for a family day out, for people to re-live the days gone by of travel on older buses and for the enthusiasts who enjoy buses from all ages.

“We have buses running in service from most decades from the 1950s to the present day.

“There is also a stall at Wrexham Bus Station selling models of various buses from around the country.”

Programmes outlining the routes, a full copy of the working timetable including bus allocations and histories and information about the buses running on the service in the day are available to purchase on some buses and at Wrexham Bus Station.

A copy of the timetable and a full list of the buses attending can be found on Facebook, here.
