Are you a keen walker, jogger or someone who exercises outdoors anywhere in Wrexham? If so, Wrexham Council would like you to have your say in a consultation on public rights of way.

Public Rights of Way affect bridleways, footpaths and other routes around the county borough – some of which take in sites such as the World Heritage Site at Pontycysllte Aqueduct, and the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

Wrexham Council is reviewing its Public Rights of Way Improvement Plan (ROWIP) with the intention of publishing a new draft plan by the end of 2017.

As a result a consultation has been launched, with users of Public Rights of Way encouraged to have their say on what they think would improve routes across Wrexham.

The consultation also asks how often you use the Public Rights of Way and which ones you particularly use.

Pavements alongside roads or through estates, big roads or paths in the town centre are not included in the consultation.

Cllr David A Bithell, Lead Member for Environment and Transport, said: “We know the Public Rights of Way across Wrexham get a lot of good use and people consider them an excellent asset – and they’re a great way to explore our fantastic surroundings.

“But if there’s any way we can improve them or people think there’s anything we should do to change them, then that’s something we should be made aware of, and as such I’d encourage anyone with an interest in them to take part in the survey.”

The survey is only seven questions long and takes no time at all to fill in – you can take part here.
