Gresford Roundabout road closures to start tonight – Arriva announce more changes to No 1 service (updated)

The first stage of road closures on the Gresford Roundabout will begin this evening.

The closures, which will be in place from 8pm tonight until 6am on Monday, feature as part of the long called for resurfacing works of the roundabout.

There was initially some confusion as to whether the works will just be taking place at night with daytime opening, however it has been confirmed by Wrexham Council that the roundabout will close on the Friday evening and open again on the Monday morning.

The times and the dates of the road closures can be found below:

– From 8pm on Friday June 28th until 6am on Monday 1st July
– From 8pm July 5th until 6am on Monday 8th July

Access to businesses within Pandy Industrial Estate and Gresford Industrial Estate will be available at all times from the B5425 Llay Road via Plas Acton Road and Bluebell Lane.

An alternative route to Wrexham Industrial Estate and HMP Berwyn will be signed via Junction 1 off the A483 Trunk Road.

Arriva Wales have also announced a shuttle service for Saturdays only between the Wrexham Bus Station and The Sycamores on Chester Road.

This will serve the Garden Village shops and Acton, allowing passengers to connect to the Arriva Service 1 to Chester.

The following information has been issued by Arriva Wales

This will start from the Sycamores at 05:25, 06:00 and 06:45 then every 30 minutes until 16:15, 16:55, 17:25 and 18:05 then every 30 minutes until 00:05.

Departing Wrexham Bus Station at 05:40 and 06:30, then every half hour until 16:30, 17:10 and 17:50, then every 30 minutes until 00:20.

Other timetable changes to the service include:

Friday evening

Buses from Wrexham to Chester – These will operate via Mold Road football ground, A483, Marford Claypit Lane, Rossett and then normal route to Chester.

Buses from Chester to Wrexham -These will operate normal route to Marford Claypit Lane then divert via A483 and Mold Road football ground.

Saturday

Buses from Wrexham to Chester – These will operate via Mold Road football ground, A483, Marford Claypit Lane, Rossett and then normal route to Chester.

Buses from Chester to Wrexham -These will operate normal route to Marford Claypit Lane then divert via A483 and Mold Road football ground.

In addition, during Saturday (only) a shuttle bus will operate between the bus station and The Sycamores (at Gresford Roundabout).

Sunday

Buses from Wrexham to Chester – These will operate via Mold Road football ground, A483, Marford Claypit Lane, Rossett and then normal route to Chester.

Buses from Chester to Wrexham -These will operate normal route to Marford Claypit Lane then divert via A483 and Mold Road football ground.

The shuttle bus will only run on Saturday
