A car has been left damaged after arsonists set the vehicle alight late yesterday evening.

The vehicle was set alight on Pentre Gwyn shortly after 10pm last night. One crew from Wrexham attended the incident and used one hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze.

As a result of the fire the vehicle was left with damage confined to the rear door. One neighbouring resident told Wrexham.com that the fire was out by around 10:45pm.

A spokesperson for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the cause of fire was deliberate ignition.

The car arson is the fourth to have taken place in the past 48 hours. In a separate incident three cars damaged in Johnstown after one of the vehicles in a garage was set alight early on Thursday morning.
