A series of free family outdoor learning sessions will take place in Wrexham this summer.

‘Wellies in the Woods’, an initiative provided by Groundwork Training in partnership with North East Wales Adult Community Learning, gives children and families the chance to take part in wildlife exploration and get creative with nature.

Activities include bug hunting, natural crafts, games, den building and getting active with each session based on some of the most popular children’s storybooks

All activities are suitable for pre-school aged children and children in Key Stage 1, giving parents and children the opportunity to learn and play together in the outdoors.

Teleri Jones is one of the trainers for Groundwork Training and has seen the fantastic response to the Wellies in the Woods Sessions that have already been held

“The Wellies in the Woods session we have already held have had a fantastic reception from children and parents”, said Teleri.

“Watching the children get creative outside in a natural environment and drawing their parents in to play with them outdoors is wonderful ad has such a positive impact on their well-being.

“We are looking forward to getting more families involved in these sessions and reaping the benefits over the summer”.

No booking is required you can just turn up to your nearest session morning (10am -12pm) or afternoon (1pm – 3pm).
