The Yum Yum Project’s free market stall in the Peoples Market is closing today after 6 months of operation.

In a message posted on their Facebook wall they said: “It has been 6 months now and the council feel we have had a good ride and now want us to pay almost £400 per month. As a group we decided it was too much and that we should try and find an empty shop in town say for a few months at a time.

“So if anyone can help us that would be great! Everyone is invited to bring a dish for a food share on the stall from midday to say goodbye for now, so if you feel compelled to come along would be a great thing, Also there has been some very special moments on that stall and some funny stories and great people contributing time.

“So very special thanks for everyones contributions to the stall, We have had some great people come together to do something for our community and it has been magic to say the least, meeting some amazing people thanks everyone.”

The group behind the stall are also running this petition to ask for a ‘community space’ for Wrexham, and have suggested Centre 67 on Rhosddu Road as a possible venue.
