Residents in and around Wrexham town centre could be entitled to free loft insulations for their homes.

If you live in the Wrexham town centre wards of Hermitage, Maesydre, Offa, Stansty, Queensway, Wynnstay, Brynffynnon, Cartrefle, Erddig, Grovesnor, Smithfield or Whitegate, then you could be entitled to free loft insulation, thanks to the Welsh Government’s Vibrant and Viable Places programme (VVP).

Installing loft insulation is a great way of improving the energy efficiency of your homes and reducing energy bills.

The Vibrant and Viable Places Programme was set up in 2014, with the aim of regenerating town centres and adjoining areas in towns across Wales.

Wrexham County Borough Council are working in partnership with contractors, Mitie, who are installing the insulation with funding from Energy Company Obligation (ECO), the scheme, set up by the UK Government, which legally obliges large energy companies to help improve the energy efficiency of homes.

To enable free insulation to be installed, you must be living in a private home in one of the areas specified above, and the property must currently have either no insulation or have no more than 75mm. (subject to survey)

If you meet the criteria above and are interested in receiving free loft insulation please contact Mitie directly on 01744 648 600 to make arrangements.

If you have any queries regarding this offer please contact Tracey Roberts (Wrexham County Borough Council’s Project Officer) on 01978 315444 or email [email protected]
