Free activities for children will be taking place at the South Mall of the People’s Market every Saturday whilst work takes place on the multi-million pound arts and cultural hub / market development.

Tomorrow between 10am and 3pm free face painting will take place at the South Mall of the People’s Market.

This is the second weekend of activities at the site, which last week played host to a day of free children’s craft.

The activities will be taking place each Saturday in a bid to generate footfall at the South Mall while work takes place on the £4.5 million Oriel Wrecsam/People’s Market development.

Speaking about tomorrow’s event, Cllr Neil Rogers, Lead Member for Economic Development and Regeneration, said: “The free activities every Saturday will continue into the summer as work continues on this major development in the town centre.

“The recent free craft activities held in the Mall was very popular and we would like to see this continue.

“We are keen to support the South Mall traders as much as we can and we are committed to ensuring the overall success of the development.”

Traders currently in the Mall are: RKM Wools, Kendrick’s newsagents, Dexterity Ink, Gemini Blinds, Ring ‘n’ things, Wrexham Jewellery Repairs and Cafe in the Corner.

All will remain open for business during the construction period.

Earlier this week Wrexham Council released their first ‘walk through video’ of what the Oriel Wrecsam / People’s Market development will look when when work is complete in 2018.
